The Woodland Trust want to buy a piece of land which they say could revolutionise access to Tring Park.
The aim is to connect the park to a nearby patch of ancient woodland, as well create a wildlife corridor which would enable new species to move into the wider countryside.
The 63 acre plot of land isn’t going cheap though – the trust are looking for donations to help meet the £670 000 price tag.
The expansion would also enable easier access to the park, as currently the main route is by a concrete footbridge over the A41.
