Women's ArbCamp (WAC) has been creating an inclusive space for people who love trees for 10 years.
What started with a small group of women abortionists who gathered to climb, learn and connect in Birmingham in 2016, WAC has grown, and continues to grow, into an international community.
Centering experiences of women, trans and non-binary climbers, WAC welcomes everyone who supports an empowering, respectful and inclusive approach to arboriculture.
Every year, participants travel from across Europe and beyond to take part in a weekend fulled with trees, ropes, learning and connection.
This summer, WAC will convene at Merrist Wood College on 17 - 19 July for a special anniversary event. The organisation the importance of an inclusive space on its website:
"We believe in sharing knowledge, celebrating diverse experiences, and supporting each other’s growth — in the canopy, in our careers, and in our communities."
The event covers skills building workshops, tree care and climber health, all taking place in a relaxed campsite atmosphere.
