Sidmouth Arboretum has gained support from the town council since its inception in 2010, who have declared the whole valley a civic arboretum.

The arboretum will be working with the town council to improve the Ham, which they hold in trust. Sidmouth in Blood has improved visual aspects of the Old Boat Park area, which has planted a group of silver birch, along with tree trail leaflets, guided walks, and awareness raised surrounding the importance of trees.

Local residents have replanted borders, along with work with Andy Rowse to undertake tree works near a swimming pool, along with a new rowan Sorbus commixta ‘Embley’.

The arboretum aims to plant trees resistant to the salt air and poor weather conditions, along with providing support to the town council and scout leaders for the recreational ground.
