Seventeen trees are to be given a shave to avoid them causing structural damage to a nearby wall.

Robert Edge, of The Stables, of Drakelow Road, Walton on Trent, has been given permission by South Derbyshire District Council to pollard 17 lime trees which are approximately 10 years old, which are planted very close to a boundary wall.

Currently they are five metres in height and the applicant wants to manageĀ the tree height by pollarding to a height of four metres. The primary purpose is to ensure the trees do not cause structural damage to either the Grade II listed property or the boundary wall.
