The Royal Forestry Society (RFS) has strengthened its headquarters team for 2021 with the appointment of Georgia Spooner as development officer.

Georgia will take on the role three days a week alongside her duties as Teaching Trees education cfficer for Gloucestershire and will be working with development manager Jen Turner to grow income for the RFS’s charitable education projects and woodland.

Georgia says: “I’m so excited to be extending my role with the RFS. I’ve worked as one of the education officers on the fantastic Teaching Trees programme for several years now and love to see the positive effects a woodland session can have on inspiring the next generation of tree lovers. I can’t wait to get chatting to our members and further support the great work that the RFS does.”

Jen Turner added: “We are so thankful to have Georgia join our small team. The last few months have been incredibly difficult for all charities especially small charities, like the RFS who rely on the kindness and generosity of our members and supporters. We are very grateful for all the support we have been shown over the past few months and are proud to be looking forward into the new year with a great deal of hope and optimism.

“Georgia will increase our capacity to do more with our members’ donations and find new supporters for our cause. I am looking forward to seeing her apply her exceptional knowledge, skill and enthusiasm to this newly created role at such an exciting time of growth for the RFS.”
