Six trees are facing the chop at a Scunthorpe sportsground.
They are on the surrounds of the Tata Steel ground on Cemetery Road, known locally as Redbourn.
Appleby-Frodingham Works Athletic Club has applied to fell half-a-dozen Lombardy poplar trees, which are currently the subject of a Tree Preservation Order.
North Lincolnshire Council planners, who are considering the application, have been told the trees “cause issues to the properties adjacent” through hindering sunlight and also dropping leaves.
