After completing a successful Land’s End-John O’Groats bike ride last year Fund4Trees (F4T) founder Russell Ball plans to cycle to each capital city within the United Kingdom and Ireland planting trees in schools. The ride will start in London on 15th April pass through Cardiff to Dublin and Belfast then onto Edinburgh with the return to London on 1st May.

All ride costs will be sponsored by Gristwood & Toms and the trees supplied by Barchams. The aim of the “Capital Cities Ride: UK/I” is to raise the profile of SalarySubs4Trees and Just1Job. These two F4T initiatives encourage tree officers, consultants and contractors to provide a small annual charitable donation. This core revenue will enable F4T to raise substantial funds to be directed at key arboricultural research and best practice.

Russell: “It’s another huge challenge but I’m looking forward to meeting all the school children en route plus anyone who cares to join me on a bike in any of the capital cities”.
