In the year of Perennial’s 175th anniversary and with a revived fundraising event firmly in the diary for January 2015, it seems fitting that UK horticulture business support for the evergreen industry charity continues to go from strength to strength.
In the past two months eight new Perennial Partners have been confirmed with almost 30 businesses now signed up to the annual membership scheme and over 40 having pledged support for the charity during 2014. Grace Landscapes, Clearstone Paving, Viewpoint Associates Landscaping, Artscape, Ovation, Arbour Design and Build, Easton Walled Gardens and The Outdoor Room join the ranks of Landform Consultants, Sodexo Horticultural Services, Majestic Trees, Oakview Landscapes, Bowles & Wyer, Outdoor Options and Notcutts Garden Centres, all committed to an annual donation, enabling Perennial to plan and grow essential services to support horticulturists in need.
Speaking about his new Platinum Partnership, David Dodd of The Outdoor Room says,
“The Perennial Partnership scheme offers UK businesses the perfect opportunity to give something back to the charity that exists to support our industry and ensure the welfare of everyone who works in it. Once I found out about the scheme, and read some of the success stories, it seemed like common sense to sign up and start supporting the valuable work Perennial does.”
Anita Bates, Director of Marketing and Development at Perennial, is thrilled that support for the charity continues to thrive. She says,
“We set ourselves ambitious fundraising and awareness targets this year – boosted early through fantastic exposure at Chelsea – and so we’re delighted that companies continue to show their support. Not only do we have more Perennial Partners than ever, but we have secured important sponsorship of our Party for Perennial in January which we hope will kick-start next year’s fundraising campaign.”
The work of Perennial and its network of highly trained Caseworkers and Debt Advisers would not be possible without the ongoing support of businesses and individuals. Christmas is an important time of year for the charity with a range of cards and gifts for sale through Perennial’s online shop, boosted this season by the cheeky Grubby Gardeners Naked Calendar 2015, but it is sales of Party for Perennial tickets that Anita Bates is hoping to encourage this side of Christmas. She says,
“So many of those who attended our 175th anniversary launch in January this year encouraged us to make it an annual event that we’ve revived a tradition lost over 100 years ago. With sponsorship from CED Natural Stone, Prolandscaper, Bulrush, the HTA, Bulldog Tools, Green-Tech and Everris,we’re excited to have the opportunity to meet and talk to businesses and supporters so early in the year.”
