The Cale Park regeneration group are to plant more than 400 trees this weekend.
They are calling on volunteers to join them to help with the planting.
The group is to meet at the David Sharp Centre at 10.30 am on Sunday.
Group chairman Ray Tudgay said: “It is anticipated that the planting will take a couple of hours. This tree planting will form part of the plan to regenerate the park along side our plans to provide a new play area.
“We would like people to bring their own spades and wear suitable footwear.
“The trees – which are in fact very small saplings most are no bigger 18ins tall and can be easily handled by children – have been donated by the woodland trust consist of 75 Blackthorn, 90 Rowan, 60 Oak, 75 Silver Birch, 60 Hazel Hedging, 60 Hawthorne.”
Anyone who would like to help out should meet at the David Sharp Centre at 10.30am on Sunday.
