On Friday 25 April, Andrew Brightman, managing director of Gristwood and Toms, was awarded the Arboriculture Company Award at the 2025 Pro Landscaper Business Awards, in association with Caribbean Blinds.
The event brought together the landscaping community for an afternoon of celebrations and recognition.
In partnership with Beechwood Trees and Landscapes, the arboriculture award scored arboriculture companies on their commitment to the industry, staff retention and morale and constant good business practices.
Gristwood and Toms, acquired in 2024 by Nurture Group, stood out among a competitive shortlist that included Connick Tree Care, Artemis Tree Service, Blake Tree Care LTD, Maydencroft, and Rockleigh LTD.
Offering a range of services, Gristwood and Toms reports that it is committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship, employing eco-friendly practices and prioritising the long-term health of green spaces.
The judges of the Arboriculture Company Award state the company’s submission shows "dedication to the industry, its staff, and the environment," continuing that it is "synonymous with tree care" and that its submission "reflects its status in the industry."
Speaking with Pro Arb at the event, Andrew Brightman says the company’s recent “tremendous” acquisition by Nurture Group and the recognition of the award underscore Gristwood and Toms’ commitment to a long-term future in arboriculture and tree planting.
He adds: “This feels like one huge sense of achievement that places the company on the right footing.”
