People in Scunthorpe are needed to help make Lincolnshire greener – with trees.

A Lincolnshire-based tree charity has embarked on a new scheme aimed at growing woodland across the county and now needs the help of local people to help make it happen.

Lincolnshire is currently one of the least wooded counties in the UK with only 4.2% cover, when compared to the national average of 10%.

To help increase the number of trees and areas of woodland for people to enjoy, the Woodland Trust is now looking for people in Scunthorpe who would like to plant trees on their land. Trees will be supplied by the Trust after receiving funding from Lincolnshire County Council to improve the county’s green and open spaces.
