A fallen tree has partially blocked Greensted Road in Ongar and pulled down down power lines this morning.
Police reported the incident to UK Power Networks, the company that provides electricity in the region, just after 9am.
A UK Power Networks spokesman said: “At 9.03am today we received a report from Essex Police that a fallen tree had damaged an overhead power line on Greensted Road, Ongar, near the junction with Toot Hill.
“UK Power Networks engineers are attending to make the area safe, assess the damage and arrange repairs.
“We do not believe this incident is affecting electricity supplies in the area.”
