The Stratford Observer has reported that delayed safety works are set to be carried out on a number of trees along the River Avon.

A defected horse chestnut tree will be cut down by staff from Warwickshire County Council and deadwood from a lime tree on the Recreation Ground will be removed.

The works were originally planned for Wednesday, 9 March but were postponed due to flooding in the area.

The nearby pedestrian footpath will be closed while the works – which are expected to last a day – take place.

Members of the public will be diverted away from the area.

Stratford District Council regularly carry out inspection on trees on council-owned land and apologise for any inconvenience the works may cause.
