Forestry Commission Scotland is to hold a consultation update day next month (Wednesday 16 July) to outline its management plan for Corniehaugh in the Deveron valley, Rothiemay.

The ‘drop-in’ session at Rothiemay village hall will run from 1.30pm to 7pm and the draft land management plan for the site will be available for comment and discussion.

David Henderson, for Forestry Commission Scotland, said;

“There is quite a bit of interest in this site amongst the local community and we have consulted extensively and taken a wide range of views and aspirations for the site into account.

“Consultees are invited to come along and discuss the plans on the day and to make sure that everyone is well informed, we are making the plans and associated maps available on our website from Monday 7 July.

“A great deal of work has gone in to developing a proposal that makes optimum use of Corniehaugh and which illustrates how effectively one site can integrate and sustain a variety of different land uses.”

The plan and maps will be available to view from Monday 7 July
