Family-run business CLECO Ltd has delivered the creation of a resilient new 34-hectare woodland landscape in Cheshire.

The project, delivered on behalf of a local authority, involves establishing 37,124 native trees across a diverse mix of broadleaf and coniferous species.

A key feature includes the involvement of 42 rare genetic clones of the endangered Black Poplar, bred by Chester Zoo.

Driven by objectives focussed on carbon capture, climate resilience and biodiversity enhancement, a mix of flowering and fruiting species have also been incorporated to maximise ecological value and support long-term habitat creation.

Green-tech has supplied a range of tree protection and establishment products to support successful woodland creation. From Tubex Standard Shelters to Shrub Guards, the products will provide durable support across the site.

Ross Butterworth, managing director at CLECO, comments on the collaboration with Green-tech:

"Once we outlined what we needed, Green-tech took ownership and made it happen. It genuinely felt like having an extra member of the team. The quality of materials supplied was consistently high and supported smooth delivery on site.”
