A tree could be taken down or chopped back in an area of outstanding natural beauty – because it is too big.
Last Monday, a resident of Axbridge approached the town council asking for support for an application to reduce the size of a yew tree on the verge by the entrance of the car park on West Street.
“It’s only five feet away from my house,” said George Ware.
“I’ve had to change my house insurance because they won’t cover my house because of the size of the tree and the proximity of it.”
