A WOODLAND near Swadlincote is to be revamped as many of its trees are showing evidence of ash dieback.
Some of the trees in Badger Wood, off Sandy Lane, Coton Park, are also suffering from red band needle blight and sudden oak death due to limited past management.
Now, new owners have been given permission to save the trees through thinning and coppicing due to a Tree Preservation Order (TPO).
Shane Richardson, of Burton Road, Overseal, has been given official permission by South Derbyshire District Council to start the work.
A supporting document drawn up by Native Forestry said: “Past management has been limited, mainly due to the immature age of the trees and limitation presented by the quality of resource.”
