Environmental consultancy and contracting business Nicholsons has announced its director of forestry, arboriculture and ecology has been awarded the Institute of Chartered Foresters’ Medal.

Justin Mumford, who joined the company back in 2022, "has shaped projects, partnerships and people which have left a lasting and positive impact on both the profession and the wider sector," says Nicholsons.

The Institute's highest honour, the medal was handed out at last week's ICF National Conference.

Over the years, the medal has been received by Professor Julian Evans, Dr Helen McKay and Paul Nolan in 2025, John Risby in 2024 and Peter Wilson 2023 to name a few.

Nicholson's takes to LinkedIn in congratulating Mumford:

"Justin [Mumford]’s contribution extends well beyond his own roles, encompassing national sector leadership, influence on policy and a long-standing commitment to mentoring and supporting the professional development of others."

Recognising the honour, Mumford responds, "I'm very lucky to work in such a supportive industry."
