The UK’s biggest arboriculture-focused trade show continues to grow, with evolving activities and attractions for both the industry and the public.
Returning to its home within the stunning setting of Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, this edition of the largest and longest-established UK show dedicated to arboriculture promises a wonderful day out for all those with a passion for trees and tree work.
It’s all about trees and some serious kit
ARB Show veterans and trade professionals will be in for a treat this year, being able to choose from a host of workshops, tree climbing forums, competitions and exhibitors demonstrating all manner of shiny new kit and the latest technologies.
Show-goers will also be able to explore the stunning landscape and remarkable trees within the award-winning Arboretum, including 170 champion trees. The Arboricultural Association event team has worked hard on a new and improved showground layout to enable exhibitors and visitors to make the most of the incredible venue.
If it’s a spot of retail therapy you’re looking for, there’ll be plenty on offer from hundreds of exhibitors who are experts in a huge range of products and services, displaying the latest equipment available in every market from decay detection technology, soil decompaction and enrichment to new climbing kit and almost every type of chipper and shredder you could imagine.
The Arborists’ Workshop, sponsored by STIHL, will feature a range of must-see talks including a rundown of the landmark new Technical Guides alongside presentations from top industry speakers. You’ll be able to book your free place from April.
A brand-new demonstration area has been added this year. This will feature entertainment, demonstrations and shows to watch throughout the day. There’ll even be a video screen, so you can sit down and enjoy some entertainment along with your refreshments.
The ARB Show is the ideal chance for professionals to discover the latest tools and kit by talking to the host of industry suppliers in attendance, while their families and members of the public can enjoy an educational and entertaining day out.
The 3ATC UK Open Climbing Competition will be showcasing just some of the many technical skills involved in being a professional arborist. Following on from the success of the 2019 UK & Ireland Competition held at Westonbirt, the competition will take place next to the main entrance.
Elsewhere, the Tree Climbers’ Forum returns to the main showground, bringing arborists together to talk, interact and discuss a range of modern techniques. Following the success of last year’s schedule, there’ll be more face-to-face training sessions throughout the day. The site has expanded with a second demonstration arena added, with exciting new activities to be announced in the coming months.
Other arb delights including the Knot Tying, the Throwline Competition, and Lantra Demos will be dotted around the showground. There will be specially selected entertainment in the main arena, to be announced soon. There’s plenty for all ages with attractions such as a kids’ tree climbing area, axe throwing and a climbing wall. Westonbirt will also be announcing some arb-themed activities taking place around the arboretum.
