Research social scientist Dr Kathleen Wolf of the College of the Environment, University of Washington (Seattle USA), is to present a seminar on Friday 19 September at Barcham Trees’ Ely nursery.  Entitled ‘Trees for a better human habitat, evidence of health benefits’, the event, which will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm, is free to tree care professionals on a first-come, first-served basis, and includes both complimentary breakfast and lunch.

Dr Wolf conducts studies to understand better the human dimensions of urban forestry and urban eco-systems based on the principles of environmental psychology.  Her aim is to discover ,understand and communicate human behaviour and benefits as people experience nature in cities and towns.

Kathleen Wolf firmly believes the urban forest is not simply ‘nice to have’, but an absolute necessity.  Her presentation will help delegates to present a stronger case for having trees in urban communities.
