New shrubs planted in London Colney’s Naspbury Park are hoped to encourage nesting birds into the area.
The saplings were planted by students at St Bernadette’s Primary School with the help of Hertfordshire County Council’s rural estate team as a part of National Tree Week.
The previously derelict eight acres will now host a range of broadleaf species, which includes oak and hornbeam.
It was part of National Tree Week (NTW), and the funds for the trees were covered by a Woodland Creation Grant Scheme by Natural England and the Forestry Commission.
